Upstate New York has seen a lot of snow this winter and it's only January. Buffalo was slammed last month, closing the New York state thruway for days and stranding people in their homes and cars. Now it's Watertown's turn where they are measuring snow fall in feet.

As of Saturday, the snowstorm that started Thursday night brought about 54 inches of total snowfall in Rodman, 48 in Adams, 40 in Copenhagen, 35 in Beaver Falls, 26 in Watertown, 18 in Carthage and 17 in Lowville, according to the Watertown Daily Times.

It's not quite as bad as 1999 when I lived in Watertown. I remember trying to shovel out of my driveway and I couldn't throw the snow that high anymore. The snowbanks were at least 7 feet high. I drove to work bouncing off the snowbanks on each side of the road. Now THAT was a snowstorm.

Check out the time lapse video of the storm moving into the North Country.

Anyone who lives in Watertown and the North Country is use to this kind of winter weather. It's the rest of the country that can't handle that much snow.
