Volunteers Needed at Salvation Army To Help With Flood Relief Efforts
The devastating floods in the Mohawk Valley and Central New York has the Salvation Army looking for help to provide disaster relief. The Herkimer chapter has set up a disaster relief command center and they need volunteers willing to donate their time. You will serve meals and deliver care packages to people stranded in the areas most affected.
Volunteer Details:
- The shifts are 12 hours: 8:30am-8:30pm
- You must be able to lift at least 25 lbs
- You must be over the age of 18
- Mileage will be reimbursed for the commute to Herkimer
- You will be fed throughout the day
- If you are willing to commit multiple days in a row, they can house you in the area
Six volunteers a day are need starting today through Friday July 12th. If you have a group of people that would like to go together call Andrew, the coordinator at the Salvation Army of the Syracuse area 315-479-3668.

The Salvation Army Mobile kitchen arrived in Herkimer last night to help.
I'm heading out tomorrow after I get off the air. Since I'm working for Greg, who is taking the holiday off, I won't be traveling to Herkimer until 1pm. Anyone want to join me?
