Vince Gill Leaving MCA Records

Vince Gill is leaving MCA Records after 23 years. The announcement, according to The Boot came during a luncheon concert at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium Wednesday. Vince told a group of assembled record execs and radio personalities,”For the first time in 30 years, I don’t have a record deal. Don’t know that I want one.” He went on to say that every artist has their day and sooner or later it comes to an end–with one exception.
“There’s no artist that this didn’t happen to,” notes the Country Music Hall of Famer. “Not one. Well, maybe George Strait … Anyway, people like different things. My grandfather said, ‘If people all liked the same thing, everybody would be hitting on your grandma!’”
.
His fans need not worry however. Just because he doesn’t have a record deal doesn’t mean he is retiring. He will still be performing at venues across the country like he’s always done
