A vigil for MaryEllen Hall, the Rome woman who tragically drowned in Delta Lake, was held in Rome. Family and friends remembered Hall with candles, balloons and pictures outside the Dunkin Donuts, where Hall worked.

Hall was swimming in the Delta Reservoir on Sunday June 1tth with family members when she started to struggle. Another boater helped get her into the boat and began CPR. She was pronounced dead at Rome Memorial Hospital.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover funeral expenses.

"On June 11th our family suffered an incredible loss. Our beautiful MaryEllen (Hall) Peters was unexpectedly taken from us during a fun filled day on Delta lake. The doctors believe she suffered a heart attack and drowned because of it. We should all take comfort in knowing she was doing what she loved, which is spending the day with her son, daughter in-law and grandchildren. Her passing was so very unexpected her family needs help covering her funeral. Please keep her loving husband Mike, her beautiful children Heather, Jason, Scott and Pamela, and her 7 cherished grandchildren in your prayers. Every who knew MaryEllen knows how big her heart was and how she loved everyone. Please let's help her husband and children give her the best memorial we can."
