Utica’s Hidden Gem – RoSo’s Cafe and Catering

Best kept secret, hidden gem, and off the beaten path would all be phrases describing RoSo's Cafe and Catering. So wouldn't be delectable, delicious and one-of-a-kind. They are one of the many Central New York Restaurants supporting Epicurean Delight at Harts Hill Inn on April 15. As Honorary Chair Couple we have the tough task of sampling some of the dishes that RoSo's prepares. Hey, someone has to do it.

RoSo's is located on the 2nd Floor of the Adirondack Bank Building in downtown Utica.  Their name is as unique as their menu. Owner, Diane says the name was created by combing their children's first names, Robert and Sophia. In a similar fashion, many of their signature sandwiches come from family, like Uncle, Aunt and Totally Debbie. Even customers have created their own sandwiches, also featured on the menu.

We joined Hospice's Laurie Barr for a lunch sampling of sandwiches and salads that included:

• Turkey Delight
• Chicken over Greens
• The Cuban
• Sweet potato Salad
• Broccoli Salad
• Beet Salad

Each was created in their own unique way including some topped with apples and cranberry mayonnaise and of course, there's always secret ingredients. RoSo's serves breakfast and lunch Monday thru Friday from 8 to 2 and they deliver. Catering is available 7 days a week. Check out their complete menu at their website.
