A 24-year old Utica woman has been arrested in the death of her mother.

Utica Police have charged Tasheonia Hills with second-degree murder.

Police say the body of 44-year old Irene Williams was found late Monday afternoon at the Humphrey Gardens Apartments in North Utica.

They say it appears Williams suffered multiple wounds from a sharp instrument which caused her death.

An autopsy will be performed by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police say Hills, who was uncooperative during the booking process, is being held in the Oneida County jail without bail.
