Mother's Day racing this weekend at Utica Rome Speedway will honor one of the tracks favorite drivers of all time, J.J. Michaels.  According to the Utica Rome Speedway website, J.J. raced and won at 4 Central New York track, picking up 21 of his 49 wins at Utica Rome.

J.J. Michaels was one of the most popular local drivers at the Utica-Rome Speedway during his career, with both fans and drivers alike.  J.J. was aggressive, yet smooth and clean, on the track which earned him the respect of his competitors and endeared to the fans.

J.J. passed away following a short illness in 2005.  In his honor this weekend, the a special 50 lap feature will pay the winner more then 5 thousand dollars.  Get more details on this weekend's action here.  For results from the 1st two weeks of racing click here.
