The Utica Rome Speedway is honoring the memory of the late Kevin Ward Jr with a special night.  The speedway will turn the annual Cole Cup into a two day event with the addition of "Kevin Ward Jr. Shootout" on Friday, September 5.  Click for more details.

The Utica Rome Speedway says, the Ward family gave their blessing for the event, and they will use the number 13, Ward's car number, as part of the event's race format.

The race will be 13-laps in distance while offering the winner a guaranteed starting position for the 30-lap, $10,000 to win, Cole Cup the following day.  Friday night’s A-Main for the 13 car field will pay $1,300 to the winner with $130 at minimum going to any driver that qualifies for the event.

 

The gates for the Friday night Shootout will open at 5 with racing starting at 7.  The track will also have fireworks at th econclusion of racing.  Get more details on the race at Utica Rome Speedway.com.
