Utica Man Makes Top 50 in National Barilla Pasta Contest

You helped vote him in and now his tasty creation will carry him the rest of the way. Alex Handzel of Utica was asked to participate in this year's Barilla Pasta's 'Represent Your Region' contest. Out of over 500 entries, Alex has been selected in the Top 50 and will compete for the top prize.

The first place winner in the contest will receive a trip worth $2,500 and the next 9 runner-ups get a Jaden Knife Roll worth $350. Now that Alex is in the Top 50, he will now be judged by a bunch of extremely talented chefs. All we can do is wish him the best and show him he has the community's support by sharing his good news.
