The Utica Comets and Syracuse Crunch are hoping to make professional hockey history. The two teams meet in the Frozen Dome Classic, Saturday, November 22. The hope is to set an indoor attendance record, not just in American Hockey League history, but in professional hockey.  It's a full day of hockey including Utica College Pioneers, click for details and ticket information.

The first professional hockey game ever in the Carrier Dome will feature three match ups in a "Utica vs Syracuse".

The unprecedented day-long hockey event will also feature an NCAA Division III matchup between the Utica College Pioneers and Oswego State Lakers, local collegiate powerhouses. There will also be a Syracuse vs. Utica law enforcement charity game prior to the Crunch-Comets main event.

The two attendance marks the Comets and Crunch look to best are; the American Hockey League indoor attendance record of 20, 672 set in 1997 and the professional hockey record of 28,183 set in 1996 by the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Philadelphia Flyers in a Stanley Cup Playoff game.  The Carrier Dome hockey layout will allow seating for 30 thousand.

A reserved section of tickets have been set aside especially for Comet fans.
