New York state is shutting down snowmobile trails in the Adirondacks, North County and Tug Hill plateau for the season due to the lack of snow.

According to Syracuse.com, all of these snowmobile trails, and seasonal access roads, will be closed by the upcoming weekend.

"The lack of snow is dangerous to snowmobilers and damaging to snowmobiles. In addition, any motorized or motor vehicle use on the trails and seasonal access roads can damage the trails, roads and natural resources."

Snowfall has been below normal this season across Central and Upstate New York. Unless a major snowstorm hits us soon, it may be the end of winter.
