Were there fewer gifts under the tree this year due to the delays at UPS and FedEx?  My daughter had two gifts that didn't arrive in time, despite the site saying they'd arrive by December 21st.

The reason gifts weren't shipped in time was, 'The volume of air packages in our system exceeded the capacity of our network, as demand was much greater than the forecast,' UPS spokeswoman Natalie Godwin told USA Today.

The bad weather across the country is also being blamed for this year's delays, but that doesn't stop people from complaining.

Others aren't too upset, understanding the true meaning of the season.

It's interesting both companies explained why packages were delayed but neither apologized.  My 17 year old daughter understands a late gift or two, but a smaller child may not be as understanding.  On the other hand, I guess that's what you get when you wait until the last minute to order gifts online.

Christmas should be about who's around the tree, not what's under it.
