A small plane that took off from Rochester New York this morning on its way to Florida is now in Cuban airspace and officials say there has been no contact with anyone on board.

Jamaican officials say that the plane has crashed on the island.

NORAD says they sent a pair of F-15 fighter jets to to track the plane over the Atlantic Ocean until it entered Cuban airspace where the intercept mission was taken over by the Cuban military.

NBC News is reporting that the fighter pilots got close enough to the plane to see the pilot 'slumped over and unconscious.'

A prominent New York developer and his wife were reportedly on board a small plane that crashed today off the coast of Jamaica.

CNBC is reporting Ken Glazer has confirmed that his parents Larry and Jane Glazer were both on the flight that took off from Rochester en route to Florida.

U.S. fighter jets were scrambled to escort the unresponsive plane as it flew south toward Cuba.

Jamaican officials say search and rescue teams are on the way to the crash site.
