Utica Club Light Now On Tap

As a lifelong Utica area resident, I have a strong loyalty to the Matt Brewing Company and Utica Club Beer. (We even have Shultz and Dooley salt shakers at home ).In fact, I spent four years of my days at Utica College as a Tour Guide at the Matt Brewery Tour (the best job one could ever hope for). I remain a big UC fan, and now by popular demand, UC Light will be available on tap at various local taverns.
According to a news release from the brewery,
“The F.X. Matt Brewing Company is very excited to fulfill the overwhelming requests for a local cult favorite, Utica Club Light. The Brewery has announced the introduction of UC Light, or UCL as many like to call it, for the 2011 summer season.
The Brewery will be launching Utica Club Light in draft on Thursday May 19th at various local accounts including:
Nail Creek Pub & Brewery, The Celtic Harp, The Electric Company, O’Donnells, The Varick, and The Fingerbullet. Several accounts are even launching kick-off parties for the sacred tapping of their first kegs.
Chris and Tracy Talgo, owners of Nail Creek Pub & Brewery, have had another beer on draft to support the demand for a light beer in their bar, but that beer doesn’t go unrecognized as being there solely to supply that demand as it is adorned with a pink Barbie skirt. Nail Creek will be pouring their first delicious UC Light at an event they’ve dubbed the “Take of the Skirt Party” on Thursday at 5PM to commemorate removing the “other” light beer to support a local product. “My little sister gave me a small skirt from an old Barbie doll to place on the ‘massproduced’ tap. That tap and that skirt have been with us since we opened, but Thursday everything changes!”
Tom Powers, owner of Celtic Harp is also hosting a kick-off party starting at 9PM and continuing all night. At theevent there will be Utica Club and UC Light specials along with live music from HITMEN.
Utica Club Light is also available in 24 pack cans. For more information on F.X. Matt Brewing Company.
