Tyler Farr is counting his lucky stars after fighting off a life-threatening infection. Our FrogFest guest spent five days in the hospital after some scary moments on a flight to Denver to perform with Jason Aldean.

Farr told Bobby Bones he had 'a 102.9 degree fever' that spiked during a flight and he 'started shaking frantically and having severe chills.'

At first doctor thought Farr was suffering from a staph infection or pneumonia as his fever spiked ever few hours. Farr was on oxygen for five days as his lungs filled with fluid and he his heart enlarged. Farr was finally diagnosed with salmonella poisoning of the blood which can be deadly.

According to Wikipedia:

'In severe cases, Salmonella infection may spread to the blood stream, and then to other body sites; this is known as typhoid fever and can cause death unless the person is treated promptly with antibiotics.'

Thankfully Farr was treated in time. He did however miss a few shows, his first. 'I always said I’d almost have to be dead to miss a show, and in this case I was almost dead,' Farr tells Bones.

The show he missed was at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. Here's hoping Farr has a long career and will have plenty of opportunities to return.
