Two female Utica natives, twin sisters, were involved in a tragic crash in Hawaii on Sunday. One of the drivers, Anastasia Duval, was killed in the crash. Her sister, Alison Dadow, survived. These women were born and raised in Central New York and still had family living here. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

According to the Maui Police Department,

On Sunday, May 29, 2016 at approximately 4:41pm, a Motor Vehicle Accident occurred on Hana Highway (360) approximately 0.3 miles south of MP-48. The crash occurred as a white 2016 Ford Explorer MPVH, traveling south on Hana Highway, collided into a rock wall on the Makai side of the roadway. The Ford Explorer then fell approximately 200 feet down the side of the cliff, landing onto the rocky shoreline below. The operator of the Ford Explorer, a 37 year old female from Haiku, was medi-vaced to the Maui Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room in critical condition. The passenger, also a 37 year old female from Haiku, was pronounced dead at the scene. She is identified as Anastasia Duval.

Anastasia and Alison were co-owners of a popular yoga location in Palm Beach Gardens. Even from the other side of the country, the loss of this CNY native is felt here. Reports also indicate that Alison is being charged in her sisters death. Until more details are investigated, all parties are presumed innocent.
