TV’s Most Profitable Shows

Television may be an entertainment medium for us but, first and foremost, it is a revenue generator for the networks that produce the shows we watch. According to Forbes the biggest TV moneymaker is “American Idol” which pulls in $6.64 million dollars in ad revenue every half-hour. Although the shows ratings have dropped and, accordingly, the revenues have been less it still earns almost a million dollars more per half hour than the second highest earner “The X Factor”. Here are the top five most profitable shows.
1) American Idol
2) The X Factor
3) Two and A Half Men
4) Glee
5) Grey’s Anatomy
