TV Pitchman Don Lapre Indicted
Don Lapre the self-proclaimed “King of Infomercials” has been indicted. According to the Arizona Republic Lapre, 41, has been charged with 41 counts of conspiracy, mail and wire fraud and money laundering. He has been accused of bilking over 200, 000 people out of some $52 million through his company “The Greatest Vitamin in the World” offering a number of get-rich quick schemes.
During his heyday “The King” was lampooned on shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “David Letterman“.
