Trace Adkins Readies For More Surgery

Trace Adkins is learning what all of us over 50′s already know. No matter how hard you work to stay fit your body–or at least some parts of it–will eventually wear out. He recently admitted to Cowboys & Indians magazine,”I’ve been pretty hard on my body over my life. It’s catching up with me now, and I have to get stuff fixed.” The next thing to get fixed will be his knee with a full knee replacement operation likely sometime this year. The bum knee is only one of many insults Trace’s body has received over the years.
The singer-songwriter admits he has weathered his share of physical ailments, including having his pinky surgically reattached after an accident while working on an oil rig, being shot in the chest by his now ex-wife, and surviving a serious car accident as a teen that broke both his arms, a leg, some ribs, and tore off part of his nose. But Trace says he always knew he’d survive.
“I don’t think I was ever worried about not making it,” he asserts. “But I might have been concerned about what shape I’d be in when I got here.”
Trace first injured his knee playing sports in high school and college and aggravated it during a recent skiing mishap while on vacation.
