During the summer, your home may be filled with brothers and sisters. How do you deal with the stress of family around so often? Intern Josh has some advice on how to deal with your siblings.

1) Talk To Them For Advice

Having siblings in your life can be annoying, fun, painful, and very exciting. However if you happen to be the older sibling of the family, chances are you think your younger brother/sister is very annoying. However, the younger sibling will also learn to look up to their older brother or sister since they have better advice. The older brother/sister will always do their best to give you the best advice to make your life better. So don’t be afraid to ask for advice if you’re the younger sibling.

2) Stay On Their Good Side

What a brother/sisters job is to annoy you….a lot. If you can learn to deal with their annoying side, then your life would be better. If you see them in a bad mood, talk to them, make them feel better. Do all you can to keep them in a good mood so you can always see them smiling. Why do this? Because you will learn to love your brother or sister….eventually. Find a way to make them smile and be on their good. That’s how my older sister and I get along.

3) Have A Relationship With Your Parents

You and your sibling will probably get into a fight at times. A good idea would be talking to your parent’s every day and building a relationship with them. That way, you’re able to probably not get the blame for a situation a lot. This might not always work, but if you and your brother/sister don’t usually get along, then you and your parents will. It’s a nice backup plan.

4) Learn To Have Fun With Them

A way to have fun with your sibling is to learn to annoy them somehow. If you can annoy them and have fun with them, then you have obtained a new hobby to do. They might be annoyed but you can be laughing your butt off. However be warned, they will learn a way to annoy you back. Siblings do not always have to be boring and not have fun. They will learn somehow to have fun with you because they love you.

5) Show Your Sibling Your Caring Side

Having a brother/sister in your life doesn’t mean you always have to think you hate them or you think they’re annoying. You know that in your heart somewhere, you care about them a lot. Have conversations with them, ask if there’s a problem. The more you talk to them, the more they show you their trust. You will learn to love your sibling somehow, and just talking to them every day grows you two closer.
