Today is primary day in New York state, and registered Republicans have a chance to voice their choice locally.

"Voters in New York will head to the polls today for Congressional primaries.

Incumbent Congressman Richard Hanna faces a challenge from Michael Kicinski in a Republican Primary for the 22nd Congressional District seat.

Meanwhile, three Republicans hoping to face Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will meet in a GOP primary today.

Congressman Robert Turner, Manhattan attorney Wendy Long and Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos are vying for the Republican line in November.

Polls will be open locally from noon to nine."
