Toby Keith has postponed his Thursday night (Sept. 22) concert in South Carolina at the Florence Civic Center due to gas shortages. The show has been rescheduled for March 9, 2017, and existing tickets will be honored.

According to SCNow.com, the Florence Civic Center officials and Toby Keith's tour managers made the call to postpone the performance.

“This is a major show for the region which attracts fans within a one to two-hour drive and beyond,” Florence Civic Center General Manager Kendall Wall says in a news release. “We understand the growing concerns for Toby’s fans and our own fans, as we’ve been receiving distress messages over the past couple days.”

As a result, the venue and Keith's team tried to do what is best for his fans. "It would be unfair for these fans and unrealistic for them to travel given the current dismal situation with gas prices and availability," Wall adds.

For those unable to attend the new concert date of March 9, refunds will be available. This is the only date affected so far.

Keith recently teamed up with Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley to honor Glen Campbell with a performance of the icon's hits at ACM Honors 2016. Before the show, Keith raved about the icon.

“It’s just really sad to think that he’s in as great a shape as he is physically, except for that debilitating affliction. But, man! He was one of the greatest guitar players of all time, and I don’t think most people realize that,” Keith shared. “I think most people saw him on the Glen Campbell Good Time Hour and some movies, and they just thought he’s a singer that sings some pop country. But Glen was one of the greatest guitar players of all time too, and even when he couldn’t remember his songs he could still play them without remembering the words."
