It's now officially the holiday season.  Not only is it the beginning of Hanukkah tonight, but the tree in Rockefeller Center is all ablaze.  The switch was flipped to turn on the lights during a ceremony in New York City last night.   Fifty thousand people came to watch the 78 year tradition.

This years 12 ton, 74 foot Norway Spruce has 30 thousand environmentally friendly LED lights and will stay up until January 7th.  It comes from the backyard of a firefighter who was one of the first on the scene September 11th.
Although I've never been to see the tree, I've heard it's something you want to see before you die.  I'm adding it to my bucket list as we speak.
