A legend of country music will be celebrating legends of professional football as Tim McGraw takes the stage at the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Concert for Legends on Aug. 5. His performance takes place during the organization’s Enshrinement Weekend 2016, which will celebrate the induction of the Hall of Fame’s class of 2016. It will be the first event to take place at the newly renovated Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

“I love football. It teaches us so much about life, commitment, courage and integrity,” McGraw shares. “I’ll be joining my buddy Brett Favre along with more than one hundred Hall of Fame Gold Jackets and thousands of fans for a celebration of this great game. I can’t wait for it and I’ll see you in Canton.”

The country star is not just an ordinary pro football fan. He recently co-produced and narrated a documentary about Favre titled Favre Returns. He's also portrayed characters in two football-based movies, Friday Night Lights and The Blindside.

Last year’s inaugural Concert for Legends featured rock powerhouses Aerosmith with frontman Steven Tyler, who has recently dipped his toes in the country music water. Tickets for this year’s event go on sale Jan. 27 and can be purchased online.

McGraw just released a new record called Damn Country Music, which features his most recent single “Humble and Kind,” a song that makes him think of his children.

“Having daughters and having kids who are growing up and going out into the world that song really speaks to me. I certainly think in this day and age in the world that we live in everybody can be so cynical and so snarky and a little bit mean, I think that that song needs to be heard,” he says of the tune.

He released the inspirational music video for the song on Jan. 21 via Facebook.
