In another study by Queensland University in Australia, drinking just three cups of green tea every day may prevent weight gain...even if you continue to eat junk food.

Although this theory on green tea consumption wasn't tested on humans by the University,  it was tested on lab rats. Scientists fed the rats a diet high in sugar. Naturally, the rats gained weight quickly, and their blood pressure rose.

To test green tea's effects, it was added to the rats diet. After it was incorporated into their diets, the rats lost weight and their blood pressure was lower. The promising part about the research is that the rats never stopped their sugar diet. Even after green tea was added, they continued to eat the sweets and the fat melted away.
