Thomas Rhett gathered together his friends, family and professional team in Nashville on Thursday (April 9) to celebrate his latest single, "Make Me Wanna," reaching No. 1.

Rhett joined his co-writers on the track, Bart Butler and Larry McCoy, at the Peter Nappi showroom in the Germantown neighborhood in Nashville to mark the occasion. "Make Me Wanna" reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts, and has been certified Gold. It is the third consecutive No. 1 single from Rhett's debut album, It Goes Like This. The title song and "Get Me Some of That" both previously topped Billboard's Country Airplay chart.

The singer-songwriter is already looking forward to the release of his much-anticipated sophomore album. He has just released the first single from that project, "Crash and Burn," which takes him in a new direction by incorporating some of his soul influences. Rhett has often spoken of his fandom for Bruno Mars, and has even covered his songs live. "Crash and Burn" slants him more in that direction, playing on a Sam Cooke vibe for a fresh sound.

Rhett has also been busy writing songs for other artists, including "1994" by Jason Aldean, "Parking Lot Party" by Lee Brice, and "Round Here" by Florida Georgia Line. He has been so successful that at one point in September of 2013, five of the top 10 songs on the Country Airplay chart were songs that either he or his father, 1990s country star Rhett Akins, co-wrote.

The "Make Me Wanna" singer is also nominated for New Artist of the Year in the 2015 ACM Awards. He has yet to reveal any further details about his forthcoming second album.
