This Is National Nurse’s Week [VIDEO]

They comfort us when we are alone and scared. They attend to our most basic and intimate needs. They are skilled at taking care of critical medical needs at a moments notice on a 24-7 basis. They are nurses and this week we salute them during National Nurses Week. The care and comfort they provide while at the same time dealing with administration, doctors and patient families is extraordinary. Here are some nursing career options.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics here are some of the positions and duties available in the nursing profession.
CNA- Working closely with patients, you are responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding patients, assisting nurses with medical equipment, and checking patient vital signs. CNAs give patients important social and emotional support and also provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses.
LPN- Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses (known as LPNs or LVNs, depending on the state in which they work) provide basic nursing care. They work under the direction of registered nurses and doctors.
RN- Registered nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
