Nashville is returning a theme park to their skyline.  Gaylord Entertainment and Dollywood, (Dolly Parton's Company), have announced plans to build a water and snow park near Gaylord's  Opryland Resort and Convention Center

The water and snow park will anchor the project which will include 35-acres set aside for future expansion. The park will provide a mix of high energy water activities for the summer season and designated snow activities for winter play.

If you remember "back in the day," Opryland USA was a huge entertainment business located in Nashville.  It was home to the Grand Ole Opry, the Opryland Amusement Park, complete with roller coasters and The Opryland Hotel where you could find anyone from Johnny Cash to george Jones in the lobby.  The legendary WSM radio and TV stations that broadcast the Opry shows were even part of the project.  Many country artists got their start performing in the musical revue shows at the park, including a group of guys
