The 'X-Factor' contestants' fates now lie in America's hands.  The 4 mentors picked their top 3 during last nights live show, leaving the Top 12 to sing it out for America's vote next week.  LA Reid and his boys were up first followed by Paula Abdul's groups.  Then it was Nicol Scherzinger and the over 30's.  Simon Cowell, of course was last with his girls.  And it looks like they may be the ones to beat.

Simon had the tough job of cutting two of his girls since he had five on his team after making a mistake last week and letting Melanie Amaro go.  After realizing his mistake he brought her back onto the show and its a good thing he did.  She had the performance of the night with Whitney Houston's 'I Have Nothing.'

Melanie moves on, along with Drew Ryniewicz, who is only 14 years old.  She put her own unique spin on 'Flashdance' and blows everyone away.  Take a listen.

Rachel Crow
joins Drew and Melanie as Simon's top 3 girls sending Tiah Tolliver and Simone Battle home.  I could never understand how those 2 made it through in the first place.

Josh Krajcik also blew everyone away with his acoustic performance of Bob Dylan's 'Forever Young.'  What a voice!  It's no surprise Nicole chose him to move on to the live shows.

Stacey Francis and the oldest contestant, Leroy Bell will join Josh next week.  Nicole made the tough choice to send the likeable Dexter Haygood home.

Brian 'Astro' Bradley kicked the nigth off for the boys.  The arrogant 14 year old rapper killed it!  I'll admit, I'm not much of a fan of his attitude but you can't deny the boy can rap and rap well.

LA Reid had no trouble choosing Astro to move on, along with Marcus Canty and garbageman Chris Rene who just went through rehab.  Crooner Phillip Lomax was sent home.

Paula Abdul picked The Stereo Hogzz, InTENsity, the group of 10 kids they put together during auditions and Lakoda Rayne, the 4 girls also put together after the audition round.  She was forced to send home the adorable Brewer Boys which I'm sure upset a lot of young girls.

It's now your turn to choose who moves on and who goes home.  The top 12 will sing for Ameirca's vote next week on FOX.

My early prediction is the 3 girls will go a long way, along with Josh Krajcik.  They all have fantastic voices and fabulous personalities.  Simon has often said it best, they have the 'X-Factor.'
