The Rock Takes On Charley Pride

One of my favorite country songs is Charley Pride's big 1970s hit "Kiss An Angel Good Morning".  That song propelled Charley into stardom, as it was a big hit on both country and pop charts. Now, a new movie about Charley Pride is in the works.

"Action star Dwayne Johnson -- who used to be known as The Rock -- will play singing legend Charley Pride in an upcoming bio-pic. Charley admits that he was initially surprised by the casting. But, he says, Johnson "flew down to Dallas and spent a day with me just sitting, talking recently. And when he left it was like parting with an old friend. We had such similar views on so many things."

No word yet on when filming will begin."
