When Bobby "Boris" Pickett recorded the "Monster Mash" in 1962 he probably didn't think it would outlive him but it did. Pickett, who died in 2007, recorded the song with a pick-up band he called The Crypt Kicker 5 and it went on to become a #1 hit in October of 1962. The song resurfaces every year around Halloween and is heard on just about every radio station.

Yahoo Music reports that in an interview in 2006 Pickett said the song was quite lucrative.

Take a look at this video of Pickett doing the song on "American Bandstand" hosted by Utica's own Dick Clark.
