The Mavericks Reuniting For New Tour

The Mavericks burst upon the scene in 1994 offering a mixture of country, rock, blues and pop leaving country radio programmers scratching their heads as to whether or not to play their songs. They did, and for the next few years the group scored hits and performed to sell-out crowds before disbanding in 2003. Now, according to the Los Angeles Times, the band has reunited and is planning a new tour beginning in 2012 at the Stagecoach Festival ouside of LA. Lead singer Raul Malo says the time is right.
“Stagecoach is obviously the perfect way to start a tour, for the band to be reintroduced to us as well as for us to refamiliarize ourselves with the fans,” Malo said in a statement released Thursday. “It’s one of the great music festivals of the world. This time out, we’ll get to do things right and finish what we started on our own terms — not subject to the powers that be.”
No further dates have been announced nor have their been any suggestions of new music but we will keep you updated.
