“The Jerry Springer Show” and “Maury” Renewed

If you experience a guilty pleasure watching people engage in slapfests, tear each others clothes off and bare their most intimate secrets–among other things–you’ll be pleased to hear that both “The Jerry Springer Show” and “Maury” have been renewed through 2016. “The Steve Wilkos Show”, a Springer spin off, has also been renewed . According to The New York Times NBC-Universal, syndicator of the shows, has great confidence in tabloid style TV.
Mr. Springer, once the mayor of Cincinnati, had “outlasted over 70 talk shows,” including “Oprah.” He draws about two million viewers a day, while his former security guard, Mr. Wilkos, gets about 1.8 million. Maury Povich outdraws both of them, with about 3.3 million viewers on an average day.
