Finger Lakes Home to Best Wine Region & Winery Restaurant in U.S.

There are thousands of wineries spread across the U.S. and the best of the best is right in our own backyard.

The Finger Lakes is the 'Best Wine Region' in the latest USA Today's 10 Best 'American Wine Scene' poll. "While California undoubtedly produces excellent wine, it's got stiff competition these days." That competition is the Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake.

The Finger Lake is also home to the 'Best Winery Restaurant' in the country. FLX Table, named the Best New Restaurant in the Spring of 2017 by 10 Best, claims the top spot.

FLX Table is a unique experience with one table, 14 seats and no barrier between you and the kitchen. "It is meant to be intimate and interactive; patrons are welcomed not only as guests, but as friends," says owners Christopher Bates and Isabel Bogadtke.

There's no menu. Every night Chef Bates serves a set meal based on seasonal of products and its changes regularly. And it's quite popular. You can only get in by reservations, which are only taken online at flxtable.com and they fill up fast.

FLX Table isn't the only New York restaurant to get noticed. Fox Run Cafe and Veraisons Restaurant also made the top 10 Best Winery Restaurants in the country.
