The Band Perry have revealed the initial details for their upcoming third studio album.

Taste of Country caught up with the sibling trio in Dallas on Saturday (April 18), where they were preparing for the 2015 ACM Awards. They confirmed the news of a new album, with the first single tentatively set for June.

"Apparently everybody is saying that date," Kimberly Perry tells ToC's Billy Dukes. "Which I think is basically our team of people saying, 'Hey, we just told everybody, y'all got to be done by June.' So now it's on record."

The group are most of the way through the recording process. "Depending on which one you ask," Kimberly says. "I think we're 75 percent finished ..."

"Anywhere from 75 to 90," brother Neil interjects. "So we agree on 82."

They have not yet chosen the first single -- or have they?

"Not necessarily," Kimberly says. "We've narrowed it down. I really think it's important to have most of the music done around the single before you pick one, because you've got to make sure it's the best."

The album is a step in a different musical direction for the group.

"When we sat down to make this record, we got to hang out with a lot of our country radio friends, and we asked them, 'Okay, you know everything we've put out, you know your fans and your listeners. What advice would you give us right now?'" Kimberly recalls. "And all they said was, 'We always expect the Band Perry to do something we don't expect.' So I would say that we're following suit with that advice. This collection of songs I would say is our favorite ones that we've ever gotten to write and be a part of."

"We always have an image in our mind whenever we write an album," Neil adds. "Last album we had marching bands or armies in our heads, just a lot of people moving in one direction. This time we have just a lot of vibrant color. We're kind of known as the black leather band, so now we're thinking in a very digital color spectrum. Minimalist too, in a sense, both in colors and in the sound of the recordings."

TBP are also set to perform at Country Jam this June.

"I think one of the things we love most about it is, there's a spirit when you're at a festival," Reid observes. "It's a whole experience; everyone's living, breathing, camping music, and you just feel the excitement when you're there."

The Band Perry are nominated for Vocal Group of the Year in the 2015 ACM Awards, which will air live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday night (April 19) on CBS.
