Taylor Swift is taking her effort in the fight against cancer beyond Friday's TV special.  She's released the fundraising song 'Ronan,' which she performed at the 'Stand Up To Cancer' telethon.  'Ronan' is about a 4 year-old boy who died of the disease last year.

Taylor wrote the song after reading the boy's mother's blog.  The mom, Maya Thompson is also given a writing credit of the track.  Money raised from sales of 'Ronan,' which is available online, will go to various cancer charities via the Taylor Swift Charitable Fund.  It's already topped the iTunes chart, knocking out Taylor's 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' from the top spot.

Watch the heart wrenching performance that Taylor barely made it through.  She chokes back tears just to finish the touching song.
