"Eat Better for Less" is one of the slogans used by Eat Smart New York. And they are teaching New York families how to do just that with the Grocery Store Challenge. As a bonus you get $10 in free groceries.

ESNY is part of Cornell Cooperative Extension, their program works with families that receive SNAP benefits. They teach you how to stretch your food budget while still making healthy choices. The program details how to cook dishes, meal planning and how to shop smart.

Their grocery store challenge is simple. Join them at various locations around Central and Upstate New York for a grocery store tour and receive $10 in free groceries. The program covers 10 Counties: Oneida, Oswego, Herkimer Lewis Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Clinton, Franklin, Essex, and Hamilton.

The next grocery store tours are tomorrow (June 21) 1 p.m. at Sav A Lot in Utica and June 22 10 a.m. at Oswego Price Chopper. Get a complete list of upcoming tours at ESNY's web page or call 315-736-3394 ext 116 or toll free 1-844-3MY-ESNY.
