I have been to all twenty-three Frogfests but have rarely, if ever, seen the level of enthusiasm as I did yesterday at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds. Great music from Tim Creaser, The Chuck Primo Band, The Custom Taylor Band, Jeff Bates and the incredible Rodney Atkins along with the excitement of the Painted Pony Rodeo made for a super day of fun in the sun. Can you believe it? Our Big Frog 104 Wild West Frogfest & Painted Pony Rodeo is Saturday, June 18th at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds. And while I've participated in a few Frogfests over the years, Matt Herkimer is the winner and still champion...being a part of all 22 Frogfests, and this marks his 23rd.

Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo special guest Rodney Atkins has played just about every kind of venue from honky-tonks to arenas over the course of his career but one stage holds special significance for the Knoxville, Tennessee native, The Grand Ole Opry. Rodney will be playing the Opry on June 21 and this clip of him in action on that fabled stage will give you an idea of what a great show we can expect Saturday at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds.

We have had the opportunity over the past twenty-three years to enjoy the best in country music thanks to our Frogfest special guests. Some have been established artists while others have been hot newcomers that have gone on to stardom. I would say without question the most exciting of these special guests was Rascal Flatts at Frogfest 2000.  Hot off their first top 10 song "Prayin' For Daylight" they put on an incredible show-in the rain no less!

Trying to recall my favorite moments from the past twenty-three Frogfests would fill a book so let me just pass a long a few and hope that you might recall them as well. Frogfest 2000 will always be remembered as the one that introduced us to a hot new group from Nashville that called themselves Rascal Flatts. They put on a great show despite the rain and showed us all why they eventually became the superstars they are.
