Val Bialas Ski Center Opens Today

Last winter was a tough one for winter sports enthusiasts but it looks like this year there will be plenty of snow and time to enjoy it. The Val Bialas Ski Center in Utica, according to our sister station WIBX, will be opening for the season today. It's perfect timing for the kids who are out of school this week to get out and ski, sled and snowboard. There are other ski areas who will be open as well.

Central New York Ski Areas Welcome Snow

It has been a very slow start to the winter sports season with snowmobilers and skiers hoping in vain for a healthy dose of the white stuff but it appears that wait is over. With most of Central New York expecting several inches of snow and colder temperatures over the next few days the area's ski center's can give their snow making machines a break and count on Mother Nature for some of the real thing. Most of the ski slopes are reporting improved conditions.
