It was the final Sunday night of action at Utica-Rome Speedway last night and a full program of racing combined with the crowning of this seasons champions made it a night to remember. Jimmy Davis too his second checkered flag of the season in the Modified Feature, Matt Janczuk too k the Sportsman along with the season championship, Tom Denton the Pro Stocks and class championship and Rick Breed the Pure Stocks with Ron Hawker the class champion. Morning showers and forecasts for more rain has forced Utica Rome Speedway
to cancel racing action for tonight, Sunday August 5.
“We normally don’t like to cancel so early in the day.” Stated Race Director John Tiff, “but between the storm that came through this morning and the forecast calling for nearly a 100 percent chance of severe thunderstorms this afternoon, we felt like we had little choice.

J.J. Michaels was one of the most popular local drivers at the Utica-Rome Speedway during his career, with both fans and drivers alike. J.J. was aggressive, yet smooth and clean, on the track which earned him the respect of his competitors and endeared to the fans.
