Mother Nature provided another beautiful spring night for racing and local fans were provided with another thrilling night of action at Utica Rome Speedway. It was a big night for drivers picking up their first wins of the season. Matt Shepard took the checkered flag in the Modifed feature in an exciting battle with Bobby Varin and Stewart Friesen. There were also first time this season winners in the other divisions.

Utica-Rome Speedway Postpones Season Opener-Again

Mother Nature must not be a race fan. The Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon has had to postpone its season opener for a third time due to the relentless rains. The season opener is now scheduled for Sunday May 22nd with a regular show of Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks and a Thunder Modified Series event with a $5000 winners purse.
