May 31, 2012 The Boilermaker on July 8th is one of the high points of the "Frog Days of Summer". This year's first-ever slot transfers have been active. The 15k and 5k race slots sold out fast so this year, that runners were allowed to transfer their slots if they decided not to run.
May 19, 2012 They are the perfect party band and what bigger party is there than the one that follows the Utica Boilermaker Road Race? The Utica O-D reports that Nik and the Nice Guys, one of the Rochester areas premiere party bands, are returning to provide the post race entertainment after a one years absence. Boilermaker Executive Director Tim Reed is thrilled to have the band return.
May 7, 2012 It's a great honor to sing the National Anthem at sporting events. This Saturday, May 12th, local performers will get a chance to audition for singing the "Star Spangled Banner" at this year's Utica Boilermaker Road Race events.

March 21, 2012 Earlier, we learned that the Utica Boilermaker Road Race 15k slots were all filled. Today, according to press@boilermaker.com, the 5k hit its race cap of 4,000 registrants. As Race Director Jim Stasaitis said, "Last year at this time, we had 59 runners signed up."

July 10, 2011 The wait is over. Today is the day that local runners have been looking forward to for months. All that training and preparation are about to pay off at today's 34th running of the Utica Boilermaker Road Race. Runners from all over the world are in Utica to participate in one of the biggest road racing events in the country. Here is a schedule of events along with some medical advice to help make the race both fun and safe.
July 5, 2011 Just two more days until one of the premiere running events in all of America, the Boilermaker Road Race, takes to the streets of Utica. According to Tim Reed, executive director of the race, the 15K reached its limit of 13,000 runners on May 14th the earliest closing date ever for the event. The 5K reached its cap on June 20th. However there is still time to enter the 3 Mile Walk and Kids Run.
June 7, 2011 The Utica Boilermaker is looking for five good voices to perform the National Anthem at one of their events Boilermaker Sunday July 9. According to their website the "Star Spangled Banner" must be sung a capella in a traditional manner and clock in at one minute, thirty-five seconds or less. If interested we have all the information you will need to audition June 11th at the Masonic Community Care Administration Building.
