Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Oklahoma tonight. The 2-mile wide tornado destroyed Oklahoma City, but most heartbreaking, the storm leveled Plaza Towers Elementary School and Briarwood Elementary School. 6 days ago The Weather Channel crew caught a tornado touching down in Utica, Kansas Saturday night. At one point they were just a few hundreds yards away from the funnel cloud. And this is just the beginning. Several storms will continue through Tuesday with 25 million in it's path. From the Plains states to the Upper Mississippi Valley. Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Topeka, Kansas and Joplin, Missouri are among the cities in the threat area.
Even though Chemung County is a little out of our listening area, the city’s Emergency Management Office is reporting a tornado came through Elmira yesterday (Thursday) after 4pm causing significant damage.
A doppler indicated tornado has stuck the Southern Tier city of Elmira. Reports are coming in via Twitter of significant damage.
Whoever says the news doesn’t print enough good news these days needs to see these photos of a victim of the recent tornadoes finding the dog he lost in the storms.

April 28, 2011 The storms that ripped through Central New York left behind flooded roads, downed trees and power lines. Many schools either closed or delayed this morning. A tornado even touched down in Frankfort early this morning, causing damage to a number of homes in the area
