While a number of blockbusters are scheduled to hit theaters on Christmas Day studios are hoping to cash in before the holiday with a handful of new releases this weekend. Chief among them is the new Tom Cruise thriller "Jack Reacher". It will be joined by the comedy "This Is 40", a sort of sequel to "Knocked Up", and a Cirque Du Soleil special. The last time I saw Tom Cruise perform as a "singer" he was in his tighty-whiteys belting out Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll" in "Risky Business". But sing he will as part of an all-star cast in the movie adaptation of the Broadway smash "Rock of Ages", in theaters this weekend. The cast also includes Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin and newcomer Diego Boneta. "Rock of Ages" will face off with the new Adam Sandler comedy "That's My Boy" for your box office dollar.
