Now that the Major League Baseball playoffs are here, many of us are watching and snacking every night. We're all familiar with football tailgate food items - Buffalo style chicken wings, pizza, ribs (if you live in Chicago and watch 'da Bears) and more. But do the same foods make it for baseball?

It has been a part of the American snack scene for a century, the venerable Oreo cookie which is celebrating its 100th birthday today, March 6. According to Wikipedia the Oreo was developed and produced by Nabisco in New York City in 1912 and was originally known as the "Oreo Biscuit". Over the years it has maintained its popularity and its original design with one notable exception.

Super Bowl Sunday is fast approaching and regardless of who you will be rooting for chances are you will either be hosting or attending a Super Bowl party. If you are the host you will have to have plenty of snacks on hand as the pre-game, game and post-game will usually extend through at least two meal times. Harris Interactive did its third annual Supervalu Snack Down Survey on Super Bowl snacking and came up with a list of favorites.
