Good news for those looking to adopt a pet at the Rome Humane Society. The facility, which has been undergoing an extensively cleaning will be re-opening soon. The shelter, according to YNN, had been described as "over-crowded and unsanitized" but the staff and volunteers have been putting in an extraordinary effort to get things up and running.

Miranda Lambert hosted the fourth annual “Cause For Paws” Benefit, which raises nearly $300,000 this year for animal shelters and the Humane Society of East Texas.
