Winter Off To A Slow Start
Technically it's not quite winter yet. The winter solstice isn't until December 22 but here in upstate New York we tend to think of winter beginning much sooner, sometimes even in November. According to the National Weather Service the normal snowfall total for December in the Mohawk Valley is around 32 inches but so far--nearly halfway through the month-- we have officially recorded less than one in the Utica area. As for the most and least December snowfall totals check out the numbers from NOAA.
