According to ABC News, "Tommaso", a one-time stray on the streets of Rome, Italy, has inherited a $13 million dollar fortune from its late owner Maria Assunta, widow of an Italian real estate magnate.
Having had dogs for a number of years I always considered myself a dog person. Then I got a cat. Now I'm not sure which I prefer. Sure, dogs offer unconditional love and affection while cats make those decisions on a case by case basis but when my Alice curls up close and purrs I have to admit it is very comforting and reassuring. There are, according to Hunch.com, big differences between people who consider themselves partial to dog and those who prefer cats.
I've often wondered what pets do when they are all alone during the day when the humans are at work. Could they actually watch TV? Could they turn on the radio? Could they answer the phone if it rings? From my experiences of leaving animals home, they usually can't turn on the television, but they sure can tear up the furniture. Check out this video. I stumbled on this pretty funny video today made by The Shelter Pet Project. And, according to its website, the project, "is a public service ad campaign focused on spreading the word that pets in shelters are wonderful and lovable, and encouraging potential adopters to consider the shelter as the first place to look when acquiring a “new best friend.” I have to say, the ads are pretty funny, especially this one. At Big Frog 104, we love animals. We're sure that you do too and probably have a few pets. In the Greg "Splashin'" McShea household, our pets are like kids to us, so we always name them with people names (no Spots, Fluffys or Buttercups).
Losing a pet is difficult. Not only do pets become a part of your family, there is an unexplainable emotional bond between a pet and human. And, it's because of this bond that makes a pet's death very difficult for most people. This month is dedicated to the joy and memories our pets have brought us as September is Animal Remembrance Month.
