It's the Empire State's signature event and one of the best family values available anywhere. It's the Great New York State Fair and it opens tomorrow at the fairgrounds in Syracuse. Great food, midway rides, music and exhibits ranging from agriculture to horticulture to prize winning chickens, cows and goats await visitors from all over the state and beyond. The Great New York State Fair in Syracuse is one of my "Frog Days Of Summer" must do destinations. In fact, it's been a family tradition for two decades that my daughter (and my son at times too) and I go the the fair, and we're heading there again in a few weeks. A recent magazine article gives the New York State Fair very high marks!

The New York State Fair's switch from Ticketmaster to Etix did not go as smoothly as officials had hoped. According to YNN a number of ticket seekers hoping to get good seats for the Jason Aldean and Keith Urban grandstand shows voiced their frustration on the Fair's Facebook pagecomplaining of long wait times, losing their place in line and being shut out by ticket agencies gobbling up many of the best locations. More than a few Big Frog listeners were among the disappointed.

No, tickets aren't sold out and you didn't miss the on sale date. Tickets for both shows were originally going to go on sale May 19th but it's been postponed.
