Nashville's Don Schlitz Named To the Songwriters Hall of Fame [VIDEO]

Longtime Nashville songwriter Don Schlitz has been named to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. While best know for his Grammy Award winning song "The Gambler", a million seller for Kenny Rogers, Schlitz is responsible for dozens of other country favorites including "Forever and Ever Amen" done by Randy Travis, "I Take My Chances" recorded by Mary Chapin Carpenter and Keith Whitley's "When You Say Nothing At All", later re-recorded by Alison Krauss. According to The Boot he joins a select list of other songwriters slated for induction June 14 in New York City.

There will soon be another reason for country music fans to flock to "Music City", Nashville, Tennessee. According to a report from CMT a Johnny Cash museum is scheduled to open in downtown Nashville in 2013. Several of Johnny's friends and family members made the announcement this week and described what the museum will include.

Dierks Bentley is on a roll. His latest single, "Am I the Only One", recently hit the number one position on the Billboard country music charts becoming his 8th number one. Dierks was planning to celebrate the occasion at one of his favorite hot spots but now it appears some changes need to be made regarding the venue.
